I am so supprised to find this web site. I did't think there was any one hitchhiking any more. I hitch hiked for two years from summer of '72 to '74. I have hitch hiked across the USA 5 times and it is a long way and evenually it got too dangerous. I did it alone once. Women are so vunerable, not to mention I was 17yrs old and nieve when I started out. But I did meet alot of interesting people and saw things I didn't know were there, I grew up in a little hick Mich town. I still use the stuff I learned on the road in my life dealings. It helped grow my survival instincts. I pick up hitch hikes to this day, to my families dismay, but to keep the good karma going you have to give back. I'd like to know how these sites got going and who is doing it. I did not go international to much of a chicken shit... I ran into enough crazys here in the USA , did go to Canada once, too buggy.. |

Greetings to all fellow 'rough riders!' Am presently hitched in Northampton, Massachusetts, in the USA. So far, so good. Am now contemplating my next move. Fortunately for me, my friend, Nicolas, from France will be joining me on my journeys. He too is an avid hitcher, backpacker, soulsearcher! Love this site. Ciao. |

...at the moment I'm hitch-hikin' for now almost 4500km ;)
...but yeah, when you don't have money and food you think about home and meal and clean sheets and warm coffee and...
I think that I come to see here now often, because I just found this good site!
