Big delegation (15 hitchers) of Latvian Hitch-hiking Club were visiting us in Vilnius. It is the first LHHC's official visit to Lithuania.

The 4th anniversary of Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club with annual awards of the best male and female hitch-hikers of the club. The best male hitch-hiker of the year was announced Andrius Sytas (he was at his expedition to Maroco at the moment) and the best female hitch-hiker of the year - Asta Gulijeva aka Pupuliukas. Also there were inauguration of club's novices.

In the general meeting of VHHC
members new president - Aiste Kesminaite and vicepresident - Inga Garnyte were elected.

12 lithuanians were in Latvia.
On Friday (16 06) we visited in Riga, where 6 latvians came to a meeting place. On Friday
via Cesis and Sigulda they went to Valmiera, were 2 latvians (Rasa and Janis) was waiting

In the biggest Lithuanian daily
newspaper "Lietuvos rytas" was published an
article by Andrius Sytas about hitch-hiker from Holland Robert Prins, which was
participating in international hitch-hiking conference in
March 2000.

Club's novice Mindaugas
Budrys traveled to Spain and Portugal. On his way he visited these cities: Avila,
Salamanka, Lisboa, Badahoza, Sevilia, Granada, Almeria, Barcelona, Lyon.

VHHC's expedition to
Syria. Andrius Sytas (ASN) and Aiste Kesminaite (Nimfa) traveled together to Turkey. In
Istanbul Aiste joined two travelers from Moscow Free
Travels Academy. After two weeks being in Syria Andrius also visited London and
returned back to Lithuania on the 27th of April. Aiste came back to home on 7th
of May.

VHHC's GEO girls (Ausra and
Jolanta) had a non-planed trip to Sicilia (Italy)! On the 10th of March they
decided that they don't like Vilnius, then packed their rucksacks and went towards Poland.

There was the 4th International Hitch-hiking Conference in Vilnius. There came
58 participants from 10 countries! Read a stories about traveling to and out of the
conference by Skot from USA and Bernd from Australia.

There were a great party in
Riga. 6 hitchers from VHHC, one from "Kelio
broliai" and dozen of Latvians took part in actions.

(Vilma and Jolanta) did not reached a target - Greece (because of unpleasant Greece
customers), but they became a participants of non-planned VHHC's expedition to Macedonia!
They also visited Prague.

VHHC's GEO-girls
(Asta and Ausra) was traveling to Greece. They had bad experience on hitch-hiking in the
South of Romania, so they decided to return back to Lithuania.
