01-03 10 2004 The 8th anniversary of VHHC was celebrated on 1-3 October, 2004. Club's birthday celebration is an annual event with traditional awards for the best club's travellers of the year and inauguration of club's novices! This time The Best Male VHHC's Traveller of the Year Award went to Marius Sugentaitis and The Best Female VHHC's Traveller of the Year Award - to Marija Karpickaja. Congratulations! This year even 33 hitch-hikers from Lithuania, Latvia, Russia and UK took part in this celebration. That was a new record of the club!

02-09 09 2004 Club member Marija Karpickaja hitch-hiked to Dresden (Germany), where took meeting of "Hospitality Club" members.

22-29 08 2004 Club member Raminta Zalkauskaite hitch-hiked to Amsterdam (NL) and London (UK).

18 08 - 21 09 2004 Club member's Audrone&Robert Prins hitch-hiked to Greece, Olympic Games in Athens'2004. Trip route: Ipswich (GB) - F - Brussel (B) - D - A - Verona (I) - Fiorina (RSM) - (bus/train to Ancona)- (GR - no hitching, Aegina/Athina & Santorini) - Ancona (I) - A - D - Podrzewie (PL) - Vilnius (LT) - PL - D - Hoogeveen (NL).

13-15 08 2004 Club member Raminta Zalkauskaite this weekend visited LV capitol - Riga.

10-12 08 2004 Club member Marija Karpickaja visited Riga (LV).

06 09 - 01 07 2004 VHHC member Dainius Kinderis hitch-hiked in Southeast Asia. The route of the trip: Hong Kong - Macau - Guangdong (China) - Guangxi - Halong City (Vietnam) - Hanoi - Hue - Danang - Dalat - Saigon - Phnom Penh (Cambodia)- Sihanoukvile - Snuol - Siem Reap - Bangkok (Thailand) - Kanchanaburi - Chaam - Surathani - Krabi - Georgetown (Malaysia) - Ipoh - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore - Johor - Kuching (Borneo) - Miri - Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan - Zamboanga (Philippines) - Davao.

13-29 07 2004 VHHC member Gediminas Tamkus hitch-hiked in Scandinavia. The route of the trip was: Kaunas (LT) - Tallinn (EST) - Helsinki (FIN) - Tampere (FIN) - Rovaniemi (FIN) - Tromso (N) - Spitsbergen island - Tromso (N) - Oulu (FIN) - Lahti (FIN) - Helsinki (FIN) - Tallinn (EST) - Kaunas (LT).

08-27 07 2004 Club's administrator Andrius Jankaitis/Gvazi hitch-hiked to Balkans countries and Albania! The route of the trip was: Vilnius (LT) - Krakow (PL) - Ruşomberok (SK) - Budapest (H) - Beograd (SCG) - Skopje (MK) - Ohrid (MK) - Elbasan (AL) - Tirana (AL) - Shkoder (AL) - Budva (SCG) - Dubrovnik (HR) - Sarajevo (BiH) - Osijek (HR) - Kecskemet (H)- Baia Mare (RO) - Nyiregyhaza (H) - Preğov (SK) - Lublin (PL) - Vilnius (LT).

03-26 07 2004 Club member Marija Karpickaja hitch-hiked in W.Europe. The route of the trip: Vilnius (LT) - Warsaw (PL) - Poznan - Berlin (D) - Koln - Brussels (B) - Calais (F) - London (UK) - Calais (F) - Luxembourg (L) - Stuttgart (D) - Innsbruck (A) - Milan (I) - Torino - Marseille (F) - Barcelona (E) - Valencia - Gandia - Valencia - Madrid - Barcelona - Valencia - Lyon (F) - Strasbourg - Frankfurt (D) - Dresden (D) - Wroclaw (PL) - Warsaw - Vilnius.

07 2004 Club member Vytautas Kraujalis hitch-hiked in Scandinavia. Trip route: Skreya (N)- Stockholm (S) - Kiuruvesi (FIN) - Vilnius (LT).

07 07 - 30 06 2004 Club members Marius Sugentaitis&Asta Terminskaite hitch-hiked in W.Europe. The route of the trip: Vilnius (LT)- Kaunas - Warsaw (PL) - Poznan - Berlin (D) - Hannover - Dortmund - Aachen - Gent (B) - Oostende - Calais (F) - Dover (UK) - Reading - Birmingham - Manchester - Birmingham - Coventry -Cambridge - Ipswich - Cambridge - Leeds - Glasgow (Scotland) - Edinburgh - Dundee - Aberdeen.

16-25 06 2004 Club's administrator Andrius Jankaitis/Gvazi hitch-hiked to Sankt-Petersburg (RUS).

19-20 06 2004 Club member Asta Terminskaite in weekend visited LV capitol - Riga.

05 06 - 28 07 2004 Augustas Kligys has travelled through East African countries: Ethiopia - Kenya - Tanzania - Zambia - Zimbabwe - South Africa. 6'000 km by hitch-hiking and 4'000 km by public buses. More about this expedition: africa.kligys.com.

29-30 05 2004 Club member Asta Terminskaite hitch-hiked to Neringa, music festival Nida'2004.

12 05 2004 General meeting of the club took place. Club's board (from 5 members), 2 new: Vytautas Kraujalis and Marius Sugentaitis. New interim administrator of the club will be Andrius Jankaitis/Gvazi (01.07.2004-01.01.2005).

24-25 04 2004 Club organized annual public hitch-hiking competition "Baltics 2004". Participants had to check in 5 control points (3 points in LT and 2 control points in LV). The lenght of the route was approximately 1000 km. 11 pairs took part in this competition and the winners were Tomas Mockus and Lina Kulbyte. The second place winners were Mindaugas Gofmanas and Sigita Ruksenaite. The third place went to VHHC member Andrius Jankaitis/Gvazi and Lina Ratkeviciute. All 11 pairs have successfully checked in 5 control points and returned to finish withing given control time. Three winner pairs were awarded with sponsor prizes.

03-11 04 2004 New club member Marius Sugentaitis hitch-hiked in W.Europe. The route of the trip was: Vilnius (LT) - Marijampole (LT) - Szczecin (PL) - Berlin (D) - München (D) - Salzburg (A) - Udine (I) - Venice (I) -Bologna (I) - Firenze (I) - Roma (I) - Pescara (I) - Rimini (I) - Verona (I)-Innsbruck (A) - München (D) - Berlin (D) - Szczecin (PL) - Marijampole (LT) - Vilnius (LT).
