A well-known russian hitchhiker and writer, founder and president of "Free travel academy" in Moscow Anton Krotov visited Lithuania. In Vilnius travellers club A.Krotov gave a lecture and presented his travels and works. |

05 10 2008 - 12th anniversary of Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club
|
This weekend we have celebrated the 12th birthday of Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club. The club's birthday celebration is an annual event with traditional awards for the club's best travellers of the year and the inauguration of club's novices. This year there were
25 participants. During the weekend celebration the traditional annual awards were issued for the best female hitch-hiker of the year (Katja Lachman, over 10.000 km) and the best male hitch-hiker of the year (Robert Prins, over 16.000 km). It should be noted that Katja Lachman has now received this award for the third consecutive(!) time (she also received it in 2006 and 2007). It is the first time in the club's history that a female traveler has been awarded this award 3 times. (Robert Prins received the award for the second time) It is also the first time that both winners are foreigners!

25 09 2008 - Travel presentation about Russia

Yesterday traveller from Germany (Augsburg) Phillip Seefelder paid a visit to VHHC meeting and made a presentation about his 2,5 months long mostly hitchhiking expedition to the four extreme regions of Russia, including Magadan, Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Murmansk, etc.
Phillip Seefelder have visited 75 countries.

26 08 2008 - D.Puzaras arrived to Italy

|
VHHC member two weeks ago started his long "schedule - free" journey across several continents. During two weeks he already visited Belgium, France, Switzerland and other countries. Yesterday he arrived to italian town Verona. Donatas is going to continue towards East. |

Lithuanian Hitch-hiking Gathering took place on 20-24 June 2008 in natural surrounding of Šalčininkai, Lithuania.
Even 49 participants from Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Brasil and Australia took part in this great meeting!

20 03 2008 - Augustas Kligys - the best Lithuanian traveller of 2007!

Winners of best Lithuanian traveller of the year 2007 contest were announced today. We are very happy about the fact, that most of the best travellers are HITCH-HIKERS!
The best traveller is VHHC's member, former vice-president of the club Augustas Kligys, currently with other club's member Katja Lachman travelling in South America. This traveller was already elected as the best traveller of VHHC in 1997 and the best decade traveller (1996-2006) of the club according to the number of kilometres, covered by hitchhiking
